Club member Carrie Blair shares why she is a member of Zonta

Why I am a Zontian….

I enthusiastically joined the Everett Club in September of 2014, after an invitation from friend Judith Strand.
Having volunteer’s heart, I have always managed to find a way to take on extra jobs in addition to my ‘real ones’ I rely on for support.

Fortunately, I have not personally suffered or experienced a lack of success due to gender discrimination. I always believed we had equal rights.
Only later I realized this is not inherently true for all women, and that if there is any way I can help the world become a more balanced and equitable place, then I need do so.

I am especially passionate about the large projects that Zonta funds Internationally, as well as our national advocacy campaigns.

In my first 8 years as a member, I have met amazing women from various countries, listened to beautiful and tragic stories, gained knowledge from their insight, and collected many meaningful friendships.

These are a few of the reasons I’m proud to be a Zontian…
