The Z Club
The Z Club is an organization which provides opportunities for youth to develop leadership skills, explore various careers, and improve international understanding through service projects. Z Clubs are service projects to youth sponsored by a Zonta Club, which is a member of Zonta International.
Z Clubs are organized for full-time students in secondary schools. Clubs not directly affiliated with an educational institution are still called Z Clubs and may combine full-time students from different institutions into an "off-campus" Z Club. Example: Marlborough Area Z Club is comprised of full-time students from two educational institutions in New Zealand.
The term Golden Z Club has been used to designate Z Clubs formed in colleges and universities with full-time students as members.
Z CLUB SPONSORSHIP
Z Clubs are sponsored/organized only by Zonta Clubs, and operate under the Bylaws and guidelines of Zonta International.
A Z Club continues to function and use the name only as long as it is actively sponsored by a Zonta club in good standing with Zonta International.
Z Club materials, supplies, and reports are channeled through the sponsoring Zonta Club from Zonta International and its Committees. The Z Club relationship to Zonta International is maintained only through the sponsoring Zonta Club.
To register a newly chartered Z Club or Golden Z Club and receive the supplies as outlined in the Z Club Manual, the sponsoring Zonta Club is to submit a charter fee of US $25.00 to Zonta International Headquarters. A renewal fee of US $5.00 is payable each year thereafter.
IDEALS AND PURPOSES OF A Z CLUB
The ideals and purposes of Z Club are the same as those of Zonta International. They inspire young persons to work together in a world fellowship of service and international understanding.

SELECTION OF Z CLUB MEMBERS
Names of prospective members are provided by Z Club members and/or faculty members of an educational institution. Personal applications may also be requested. All prospective members are reviewed by the faculty advisors, if appropriate, and the Zonta Club's Z Club Committee.
Z CLUB ACTIVITIES
The Z Club initiates and carries out projects in these categories:
Z Clubs are encouraged to have at least one project each year which involves most of the members and offers career involvement and use of leadership skills. This could be a Career Day or Seminar open to all students and including representatives from various businesses and professions such as are present in the sponsoring Zonta Club.
Z Clubs are to be encouraged to support Zonta's International Service Projects — Amelia Earhart Fellowships and the current United Nations Project — which are fully explained in the biennial Z Club Program Packet.
WHY SHOULD SECONDARY SCHOOLS, COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES WELCOME
Z CLUBS/GOLDEN Z CLUBS?
Z Clubs are dedicated to the ideal of the individual's Growth through Service, the service of Zonta to Youth. This can be manifested in many ways. Z Club extends the horizons of its members and fosters international understanding and goodwill. It develops leadership and provides opportunities for expression and action. It complements and enriches the educational process and experience and provides career exploration in nontraditional ways.
